COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is based on the NCTM Principles
and Standards for School Mathematics (2000). Students will

incorporates modeling. Research will be the cornerstone for developing
ideas and modeling exemplary teaching practices.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
Students develop understandings of number
and quantity in K-12 mathematics education; learn and practice
effective pedagogical methods and strategies; understand the
research based literature regarding developmental stages for
number and quantity concepts; and explore and develop skills
in the uses of relevant technology for teaching, learning and
collaboration, with an emphasis on teaching and learning number
and quantity concepts, as well as other concepts addressed by
the NCTM content standards.
