Trina J. Davis, Ph.D.
Dr. Trina Davis is an Assistant Professor and Director of eEducation at Texas A&M University in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture. She has extensive experience in educational technology as well as mathematics. Dr. Davis currently teaches graduate courses that focus on the design, evaluation, and implementation of electronic learning materials and professional development strategies for teachers. Her research interests include statewide School Technology and Readiness (STaR) studies, eLearning models for preparing teachers and diverse learners, and evolving digital equity issues. Dr. Davis was also recently elected ISTE President (International Society for Technology in Education http://www.iste.org).
Dr. Davis has provided leadership on signature technology programs in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University, including programs funded by the U. S. Department of Education, the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board, the Verizon Foundation, the Houston Endowment and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. In these roles, she has worked with thousands of teachers, educational technology leaders, higher education faculty members, and K-20 students to explore a wealth of web-based instructional resources and provide online and onsite professional development.
In 2006, Dr. Davis was re-appointed by the Texas Commissioner of Education, to the Texas Education Agency, Educational Technology Advisory Committee, she served as the Co-Chair of the ETAC from 2001-2003. Additionally, Trina has taught middle school and college level mathematics and was a nationally recognized Technology Coordinator in the Waller Independent School District in Texas. Trina Davis continues to champion issues related to digital equity. |
