The Principals' Center offers a sequence of courses that:

  • Lead to Texas certification as a principal;
  • Can be integrated with a master or doctoral degree program; and
  • Are integrated with school based experiences.

Courses:
Instructional Leadership Development (ILD )
This training is a 36 hour state certified program for future and practicing administrators. Training options include certification credit and/or university course credit.

*This training is also offered as a mini-mester course in the Fall and Spring semesters as well as a course during the first summer session (EDAD 606). Check course dates and times each semester with the EAHR Dept.

Principalship Institutes

PI-1


The cornerstone in principal preparation is offered as a five week summer institute in which you will experience:

  • Skill building activities;
  • Problem solving in real school settings;and
  • Three to 6 hours of graduate course credit or professional development credit is available.
PI-2
This is a 2-day professional development institute offered during the Summer and Fall. Topics are designed by a network of principals from several urban and rural school districts. The institute can be taken for professional development hours as well as course credit. Check the web site for past institute information.
