General directions:
After you receive your confirmation message, I will also send you a personal
welcome message with a short needs assessment survey attached (via personal
E-mail). Please fill this survey out as soon as convenient so that I can
help introduce you to the group. I will also use this information to tailor
the Lingo-L mailing list to your needs and desires. Return your completed
survey directly to me rather than to the Lingo-L mailing list.
If you are new to the
list, please feel free to introduce yourself to everyone in a brief message,
if you like. You are also welcome to discuss personal interests or information
as they relate to differences in the use of words in your culture versus
other cultures in the world. Please try to keep wholly personal or off-topic
conversations off the list as much as possible, however. |
| Please note: Lingo-L
is an unmoderated mailing list. However, flames, spams, racial slurs, and
overtly sexual remarks will not be tolerated by the list owner (EvaMarie).
If I see that a Lingo-L member is repeatedly breaking one of these sanctions,
I will send an E-mail message to that person to the effect that he or she
will be removed from mailing list, and I will follow through with my decision
immediately. |
Exceptions: The only
exception to the spam rule regards announcements about other sources of
information on languages and learning languages that a list member may
deem to be of general interest. Such announcements are always welcome on
the list. Please begin the subject line of these messages with the word
ANNOUNCE>.
Example: Subject: ANNOUNCE>
