To use a
laptop, connect via the
cords provided next to the monitor on the desktop and select the laptop
button on the Sympodium desktop. The Projector
should remain on the Computer Input.
To use the
Elmo, open the drawer
on the right side of the Sympodium and
unfold the Elmo. Select the Elmo button on the Sympodium. The Projector
should remain on the Computer Input.
To view
a DVD/VHS, insert it into
the DVD/VHS Player on
the left side of the
Sympodium. On the Projector remote, select Video. Press play. The video
signal is sent to the projectors, and then displayed on the two large
screens in the front of the classroom. The audio is heard by the various
speakers in the room, and is controlled by the preamp audio mixer.
Audio/Sound:
The
sound is transmitted to JBL speakers in the room by a Peavey preamp
audio mixer, which has 1 XLR input, 3 audio inputs, controls for Highs
and Lows, and a master volume. If you can’t hear any sound, check
the knobs on the mixer, on the left side of the Sympodium, under the
DVD Player. There are separate controls for the computer, the DVD Player,
and there is a master volume knob.

To use the
wireless microphone (Lapel
Mic) turn the power switch on the side to the on position (the green
light comes on in the middle but it only works in the "on"
position). Clip the microphone to your collar. The receiver is on the
first shelf of the rack. You must turn the switch on, on the front of
the receiver to make it work. If the red Low Bat light comes on the
battery needs to be replaced. It uses a nine volt battery. The volume
is controlled by the master knob on the mixer.
