  • Locate the vga connection on your laptop. Macs require an adapter that can be purchased.
  • Locate the bundle of cords on the desktop that include a vga connection, a speaker connection, and an ethernet connection.
  • Before you connect you need to press the laptop button(pictured) on the sympodium this will make the bundle of cords active.
  • Connect the vga cord to your computer then you will need to press the Function (Fn) button and F8 at the same time this will make your computer show on the projector ( Pressing F8 can vary on different brands of computer it may have another button with two squares on it representing monitors that is the one you need to use. It normally is one of the F# keys.). Macs need the resolution and mhz adjusted. Macs also tend to adjust automatically if you close the screen for a minute after you have plugged it in and turned it on. Now your laptop should show up on the sympodiums monitor and the projector if you followed all these steps correctly.

Next, find the VGA Out connector located on your laptop.
Now, plug the VGA cable into your VGA Out connector located on your laptop.

Finally, turn on your laptop, and once it has loaded, turn on your projector. Make sure that the projector is on "Input 2" in order to see your laptop on the projector screen. Then you have to hit function f8 or f7 on the laptop for the connection to work.
