Audio

There are microphones hanging from the ceiling as well as a wireless microphone that can be turned on by holding the button down for a few seconds once the mic is on a quick tap of that same button will mute it. To turn it off hold that button down again for a few seconds. Also when using the wireless mic you have the option on the touchpad to mute the student mics this mutes all the mics except the wireless this is useful if the class is exceptionally noisy or the professors has a quiet voice.

Computer

Room 503 is equipped with a Dell Dimension desktop with a wireless keyboard and mouse. The monitor has 1 USB port on either side of it which can be used for flash drives or any other USB device.

Laptop

If you do not see the laptop displayed, try Function (Fn) + F8

Smart Board

The computer monitor can manipulate the Smart Board with a stylus located on the back of the monitor that allows for more interactive presentations.

Recording Using VHS Player

This room has a DVD/VHS player installed in it.

To record a videotape:

  • Choose DVD/VCR on left panel of touch pad
  • put the tape into the player
  • double check "L1" as channel
  • go to"Advance Controls" on touch pad
  • log in - 503.
  • Press "record" on touch panel.

There are also two NEC projectors. To turn the projectors on or off, simply press the small screen on the desktop and choose to turn off the system.

 

 

 

Video Conferencing

This room has a Tanberg system with an AMX controller simply press Presentation for a room only class and the front projector will turn itself on once the computer is on the room is ready.

For a Videoconference simply press the Videoconference button and both projectors as well as the front TV will power up and once the computer is turned on all you need to do is wait for the connection from TTVN. For IP dialing, on the menu screen (when it first comes up) - select CALL - then you log into "Videoconferencing Advanced Controls" - log in is 503 - brings up the number pad, you can use to dial the number. Or you could use the remote to dial the number.

Steps to Reboot the Tandberg System
1. Press Ok/Menu on touch screen to bring up the onscreen menu.
2. Move selector over Control Panel button (it has a wrench on it) and press ok.
3. At the bottom of the screen highlight and select Restart (it is next to the Back/Cancel button).
4. The system will ask "Do you want to restart?" press the menu button when "OK" is highlighted.
5. The system will restart.

Room Information -

Room 503 has 31 chairs set around long and narrow tables placed in 2 rows in a U-shape. This room has 2 ethernet drops. There are 19 available electrical outlets (3 outlets that are being used).

The room is painted blue with Acoustical Solutions, Inc. [(800) 782-5742] wall panels clipped to the walls.
